Tony Lopez and Jose Carbajal Identified in Fatal Car Crash with Tractor-Trailer on Jara Chinas Road in Hidalgo County

 
HIDALGO COUNTY, TX (June 8, 2023) – Officials identified 39-year-old Tony Orlando Lopez of Weslaco and 25-year-old Jose Antonio Carbajal of Sullivan City who died in a crash on Jara Chinas Road on June 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Mile 3 Road at approximately 4:58 AM. Based on a report, Carbajal was driving a Mustang with Lopez at the time of the crash.
 
They were traveling northbound on Jara Chinas Road. Due to unknown reasons, their vehicle hit a tractor trailer on its side.
 
As a result, both Lopez and Carbajal sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
