Sonia Garcia Killed after Car and Semi-Truck Crash in Sun Valley

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (June 8, 2023) – The Los Angeles Police Department identified 26-year-old Sonia Garcia of Los Angeles who died in a rear-end crash on Lankershim Boulevard on June 3.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Cayuga Avenue shortly before 4:00 AM. Based on a report, Garcia was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa northbound on Lankershim Boulevard at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she rear-ended a semi-truck that was pulling a white cabin and dark-colored trailer. The force of the collision caused the Versa to continue in a northeast direction, causing it to roll over. The trailer truck failed to stop after the accident.
 
As a result, paramedics pronounced Garcia dead at the scene.
 
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that there were no other injuries in the incident.
