Aiden Wood, Tiffany Sammons, and Ashley Martin Die in Fatal Alba Crash

 
ALBA, TX (January 19, 2023) – Three people died in a head-on car crash on Highway 69 on Monday, January 9.
 
Officers identified 39-year-old Tiffany N. Sammons of Longview, 44-year-old Ashley A. Martin, and 16-year-old Aiden Wood of Allen as the victims.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the southbound side of the highway around 9:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, Sammons was driving a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe southeast on the highway prior to the crash. At the same time, Martin was driving a 2017 Ford Explorer with Wood, traveling northwest on the highway.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the Santa Fe crossed over the center line and collided head-on with the Ford. Then, a 2020 Dodge Ram 3500 then collided with the passenger side of the Ford Explorer.
 
As a result, DPS said Sammons, Martin, and Wood died at the scene.
 
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 64-year-old Frank J. Schweighart of Caddo Mills, was not hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
