Vehicle Catches Fire in Fatal Crash on Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins

 
FORT COLLINS, CO (February 26, 2024) Fort Collins Police confirmed that three women died in a fiery crash in the 5800 block of South Taft Hill Road on February 15.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened around 2:30 AM. Based on a report, a Larimer County Sheriff’s deputy located a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta on fire in the middle of the road.
 
Based on the Fort Collins Police Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling’s report, the Jetta had been traveling southbound on Taft Hill Road when it drifted onto the shoulder and hit a parked and unoccupied 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 pickup truck. The crash caused the Jetta to catch fire.
 
Subsequently, Poudre Fire Authority responded and extinguished the fire and officers confirmed that three people inside the vehicle died in the incident. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office did not yet release the victims’ identities.
