Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Crash on Katy Freeway in Harris County

 
HARRIS COUNTY, TX (May 30, 2023) – The Harris County Precinct 5 confirmed that three people died in a head-on car crash in the 8500 block of Katy Freeway on May 28.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Bingle Road around 2:10 AM. Based on a report, a driver of a Honda was going the wrong way on the freeway prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle hit a Toyota Camry head-on.
 
As a result, deputies said the two people in the Honda and the single occupant of the Camry died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victims’ names, pending kin notification.
 
The collision also caused heavy damage to both cars along the toll lanes of the freeway.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
