71-Year-old Thomas Stenoien Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Goodyear, Joy Joyner Arrested

 
GOODYEAR, AZ (January 20, 2023) Goodyear police identified 71-year-old Thomas Stenoien in a fatal hit-and-run accident on 33rd Avenue on January 14.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Indian School Road. Based on a report, a vehicle struck Stenoien and his 11-year-old family dog named Judge.
 
Subsequently, the driver left the scene, without rendering aid to the victims.
 
As a result, Stenoien died in the incident. Goodyear Fire Department also confirmed the death of Judge.
 
With the help of witnesses, officers identified Joy Joyner to be the driver who struck the victims. They arrested her on Vehicular Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of the Crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
