Thomas Griffith Arrested for DUI after Head-On Crash in Colorado Springs

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (May 23, 2023) Colorado Springs police arrested Thomas Griffith after a hit-and-run crash on Pikes Peak Avenue on May 12.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened near Memorial Park around 7:45 PM. Based on a report, police attempted to contact the suspect who was driving a suspicious vehicle in the area.
 
Subsequently, Griffith immediately fled while driving the wrong way in the westbound lane of Pikes Peak Avenue. During this, he struck another vehicle head on. After that, he then fled on foot into a nearby drainage ditch, where officers used a taser to apprehend him.
 
As a result, officers arrested him for possession of illegal narcotics, DUI, vehicular eluding and traffic charges.
 
Police said there were no reported injuries.
