One Killed in Green Valley Car Crash, Camron Ortega Arrested for DUI

 
GREEN VALLEY, AZ (May 19, 2023) – Sahuarita Police officers arrested 24-year-old Camron Ortega of Tucson following a fatal hit-and-run crash on South Old Nogales Highway on May 13.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at East Quail Crossing Boulevard around 12:07 AM. Based on a report, Ortega’s red Ford F150 pickup collided with a white Cadillac sedan. The sedan caught fire and Ortega fled the scene on foot.
 
As a result, Green Valley FD said an occupant of the sedan died at the scene. Officials only identified the victim as a 20-year-old Sahuarita resident.
 
Officers searched the area and located Ortega. They took him to the hospital for medical examination.
 
Police later arrested him for second-degree murder, a class one felony, driving under the influence, a class one misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a class two felony.
