Josue Ghione Suspected of DUI after Pedestrian Accident in Las Vegas, One Killed

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 23, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 27-year-old Josue Ghione following a fatal pedestrian accident on Sahara Avenue on May 21.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of Maryland Parkway around 9:32 PM. Based on a report, Ghione was driving a Honda Civic westbound on Sahara prior to the crash.
 
As he approached the intersection, he struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street in an unmarked crosswalk. Ghione fled the scene after the accident.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered severe injuries. Crews transported the victim to Sunrise Hospital, where he died.
 
Police were able to locate Ghione and he showed signs of impairment. He is facing charges of reckless driving resulting in death, DUI resulting in death, and leaving the scene of an accident.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case. In addition, no other details are available.
