Thomas David Porter Jr. and Rebecca Hurst Carberry Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 13, 2022) — 50-year-old Thomas David Porter Jr. and 55-year-old Rebecca Hurst Carberry died following a motorcycle crash on North Chester Avenue on Tuesday night, October 4.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred at Bancroft Drive in Oildale around 11:07 p.m. Authorities said a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle traveled along the No.1 lane of North Chester Avenue at a high rate of speed.
The motorcycle then turned right at the same time a 2021 Subaru, driven by Gannon Stane, entered the No. 2 lane from the intersection of North Chester Avenue and Bancroft Drive, causing a collision.
The force of impact ejected the driver, Porter, and the female passenger, Carberry, of the motorcycle. Both died due to their injuries.
