One Killed, Terrell Williams Injured in Bakersfield Car Crash

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 23, 2023) – Officers identified Terrell Williams was injured in a fatal car crash on Highway 99 on February 20.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection with Highway 166. Based on a report, Williams was a passenger in a 2003 Nissan Sentra traveling on northbound 99.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the driver of the car made an unsafe turn. Subsequently, the car drove off the roadway onto the right shoulder, where it overturned and came to rest on its roof.
 
As a result, the driver of the vehicle died at the scene. Officials did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
Police said Williams was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Crews transported him to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
