Tania Hernandez Identified in Fatal Single-Vehicle Accident in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (February 1, 2023) – The Oceanside Police Department confirmed that Tania Hernandez of Oceanside and a six-year-old girl died in an SUV accident on Douglas Drive on January 17.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 8:16 PM. Based on a report, Hernandez was driving a Toyota SUV southbound on Douglas at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, she crossed the center divider and struck a tree, ejecting her and the girl from the vehicle.
 
As a result, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said both victims died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the girl’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Two of the passengers, both boys ages 10 and 14, suffered critical injuries. In addition, a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
