Fatal Rollover Crash on Highway 12 in Naches

 
NACHES, WA (February 1, 2023) – Officers confirmed that a 14-year-old boy from the Yakima County area died in a rollover crash on Highway 12 on January 20.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened 1 mile south of Trout lodge, about 5 miles north of Camp Ghormely.
 
Based on a report, the boy was driving a Chevy Venture with a 15-year-old passenger. At the time of the crash, he was heading east on Highway 12. Due to unknown reasons, he failed to negotiate the curve, left the road, and hit a rock wall before rolling over.
 
As a result, the boy died in the incident. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
His passenger was taken to the hospital and the van was totaled.
 
As of now, the investigation into the case remains ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
