Talan Jowers Killed after Head-On Accident on FM 1902
CROWLEY, TX (October 19, 2023) — A 17-year-old passenger identified as Talan Jowers, of Joshua, Texas, died in a head-on crash.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident took place on FM 1902, around four miles southwest of Crowley at around 3:06 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10.
Reports said 17-year-old Demoshieo Brown, of Joshua, Texas, drove a 2000 GMC Yukon northbound. Then he tried to pass other vehicles in a no-passing zone. It resulted in his vehicle crashing head-on with a 2021 Ford Explorer moving southbound.
Paramedics transported Brown to Texas Health Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. They also brought the Ford driver identified as 48-year-old Rolonda Hopkins, also of Joshua, Texas, to the same hospital. Both of them sustained unknown injuries.
Meanwhile, Lt. Eric Watson of the Crowley Fire Department pronounced Jowers, who is Brown’s passenger, dead at the scene.
Trooper R. Perrault of the Johnson County DPS leads the ongoing investigation of the crash.
