Susan Nelson Struck and Seriously Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver in Carefree

 
CAREFREE, AZ (April 11, 2024) – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office identified 55-year-old Susan Nelson who suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run on Tom Darlington Drive on February 12.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Stagecoach Pass between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM. Based on a report, a vehicle hit Nelson and fled the scene.
 
As a result, Nelson suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews responded and transported her to the hospital for treatment.
 
Detectives only described the suspect vehicle as a light-colored sedan that should have front-end damage from the crash. They asked anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 602-876-TIPS (8477) or 602-876-1011.
