Sonny Johnson Killed, One Critically Injured in Pedestrian Accident on 35 Freeway [Fort Worth, TX]

Sonny Johnson Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Fort Worth

 
FORT WORTH, TX (October 9, 2023) – Fort Worth Police identified 47-year-old Sonny Johnson who died in a pedestrian accident on 35 Freeway on October 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 28th Street around 9:00 AM. Based on a report, Johnson ran out of gas and pulled his car to the shoulder of the northbound median, then called a friend for help.
 
When his friend arrived, they both got out the car to gas up. Due to unknown reasons, a driver hit them while trying to avoid rear ending an 18-wheeler truck.
 
As a result, Johnson sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
His friend sustained critical injuries.
 
Police said there were no cases filed against the driver. As of now, no other details are available.
