Shelby Carroll, Lorin Parks Killed in Martin County Car Accident

 
MARTIN COUNTY, TX (October 5, 2024)Shelby Carroll and Lorin Parks died in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, September 19.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at about 1:45 p.m. on Highway 349, near mile marker 300.
 
Investigators said a semi-truck driven by 31-year-old Amador Reyes Terrazas, of Odessa, traveled northbound on Highway 349. It was stopped in the inside lane and prepared to turn west into a private drive. Then the Jeep Wrangler struck it from behind.
 
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 19-year-old Shelby Carroll, of Huffman, Texas, died at the scene. Her passenger, 22-year-old Lorin Parks, of Paducah, Texas, also sustained fatal injuries in the crash and died.
 
Meanwhile, Terrazas did not sustain any injuries in the collision.
 
Officers said all occupants wore seatbelts at the time of the crash.
 
Texas DPS continues to investigate the accident.
