Shawna Gipe Killed in Crash on Highway 823 at Highway 821 in Yakima

 
YAKIMA, WA (October 20, 2023) – Officers identified 54-year-old Shawna Gipe who died in a car accident on Highway 823 on October 13.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 821. Based on a report, Gipe was driving an Isuzu Hombre southbound on SR 821 prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 26-year-old woman was driving a Ford F250 northbound Highway 823. Due to unknown reasons, the woman stopped at the stop sign at Highway 821 and attempted to turn left in front of Gipe’s car. Gipe then hit the F250.
 
As a result, Gipe suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
WSP did not believe drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
