Shane Pena-Tarango Identified in Fatal Ector County Crash

 
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (May 17, 2023) – Officers identified 34-year-old Shane Pena-Tarango of Andrews who died in a crash on Highway 158 on May 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1936 around 11:01 PM. Based on a report, troopers responded to the scene of a crash between the victim’s vehicle and a semi-truck near the intersection.
 
Officers said Pena-Tarango ran a red light and collided with the truck. Subsequently, the impact ejected him from his vehicle.
 
As a result, Pena-Tarango suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Crews took his passenger, 28-year-old Kiara Reeves, to a local hospital for his injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
