Clenard Parker Arrested in Fatal Brenham Accident

 
BRENHAM, TX (April 23, 2024) – Officials arrested 42-year-old Clenard Parker after he intentionally rammed a semi-truck into a building on Highway 290 on April 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, employees of the public safety building told Parker that he would not be eligible to renew his commercial driver’s license a day before the incident. Based on a report, the suspect stole an 18-wheeler and drove around Liberty County.
 
Deputies noticed the truck and began to pursue Parker. At some point during the chase, Parker made a right turn, directly into the building where customers were waiting. The truck then entered the building in the front, drove directly into the front office, and put the truck in reverse.
 
As a result, one person suffered grave injuries and died. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Emergency crews treated at least eight people at the scene and sent five others to local hospitals for treatment.
 
Authorities say Parker did not resist when he was taken into custody and would face multiple felonies.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
