Sean Leary Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 155 at County Road 196 [Tyler, TX]

Sean Leary Identified in Fatal Accident in Smith County

 
TYLER, TX (September 22, 2023) – Officials identified 39-year-old Sean O. Leary of Frankston who died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 155 on September 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at CR 196 around 4:00 PM. Based on a report, Leary was traveling southbound on Highway 155 prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 37-year-old Tyler resident stopped his Chrysler at a stop sign on County Road 196 facing west. A 43-year-old Tyler resident also stopped his Toyota at the stop sign, facing east. Due to unknown reasons, the Chrysler driver failed to yield the right of way to Leary and collided with his motorcycle in the intersection.
 
As a result, Leary suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
 
It was not clear if there were other injuries in the incident.
