Saul Pena Arrested after Odessa Hit-and-Run Crash on North Redondo Avenue

 
ODESSA, TX (September 12, 2023) – Odessa Police officers arrested 33-year-old Saul Pena following a hit-and-run crash on North Redondo Avenue on August 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at West University Boulevard. The Ector County Sheriff’s Office said Pena was involved in a series of minor crashes in the 1000 block of North Clendenen Avenue.
 
Subsequently, witnesses spotted him driving recklessly on FM 1936 between University Boulevard and 42nd Street. Later on, deputies approached him at the Fireball Game Room but he threw his SUV into reverse and crashed into a deputy’s patrol car before leaving the scene.
 
After that, investigators said Pena continued evading and ran a red light at Redondo Avenue and University Boulevard. He then hit a Buick Envoy.
 
As a result, the driver of the Buick suffered life-threatening injuries.
 
Officers charged Pena with Evading Arrest and Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
