Bicyclist Sarah King Identified in Fatal Rohnert Park Accident

 
ROHNERT PARK, CA (August 11, 2023) – The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office identified 51-year-old Sarah King of Santa Rosa who died in a bicycle accident in the 5700 block of Commerce Boulevard on July 28.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 12:40 PM. Based on a report, King was riding her bicycle south on Commerce Boulevard prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a blue Ram 1500 pickup truck was exiting the parking lot into the northbound lane of the road. Due to unknown reasons, King collided with the truck.
 
As a result, King sustained life-threatening injuries. Crews with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety along with AMR transported her to a local hospital, where she died.
 
Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
 
Police asked anyone with information regarding the crash to contact them at 707-584-2600 and refer to Case Number 23-2689.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
