Richard Rollo Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 805 Freeway at Highway 52 [San Diego, CA]

Richard Rollo Identified in Fatal Accident on 805 Freeway in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 11, 2023) – The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office identified 61-year-old Richard Anthony Rollo of San Diego who was struck and killed by a vehicle on 805 Freeway on July 28.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 52 around 12:00 PM. Based on a report, Rollo was in a damage-only crash with a Freightliner semi-truck prior to the fatal accident.
 
He pulled over to the shoulder of the freeway and talked to the driver of the truck in between the main lanes of the freeway and the connector. He then attempted to cross back to his vehicle when a white Ford pick-up truck hit him.
 
As a result, Rollo sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
