Sandra Macias De Alba Hospitalized, Jose Castorena Charged after Ellensburg Crash on Highway 90
ELLENSBURG, WA (October 3, 2022) – Police confirmed that Sandra Macias De Alba suffered life-threatening injuries in a sideswipe crash on 90 Freeway.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 1:22 AM on September 24.
Based on a report, the victim was a passenger of a white 2008 Pontiac G6 that sideswiped a gray 1999 Dodge Caravan after going over 100 mph. Subsequently, the Pontiac swerved off the roadway and rolled over.
As a result, Macias De Alba suffered serious injuries in the incident. Paramedics airlifted her to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Pontiac, 26-year-old Jose Castorena, also suffered injuries in the crash. Officals took him to Yakima Valley Memorial. No one inside the Dodge was hurt in the crash.
In the end, police charged Castorena with vehicular assault. However, an investigation is ongoing.
