IRVINE, CA (October 3, 2022) – Police confirmed one death in a fiery semi-truck crash on southbound 5 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Jamboree Road shortly after 4:00 AM on September 24.
 
Based on a report, two cars and a semi-truck collided in the lanes. Subsequently, the truck overturned and caught fire in the incident.
 
As a result, the Orange County Fire Authority pronounced one person dead at the scene. Officers did not yet release the name of the victim, pending kin notification. Two others suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
 
At this point, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
