1 Killed, 1 Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 20 at Laconner Whitney Road in Mount Vernon
MOUNT VERNON, WA (October 3, 2022) – Police reported that two motorcycles were involved in a fatal crash on northbound Highway 20 on September 25.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Laconner Whitney Road. Based on a report, a 64-year-old motorcyclist from Blaine was heading northbound on Laconner at the time of the crash.
At the same time, a 30-year-old Snohomish man was heading eastbound on the highway. Due to unknown reasons, the man failed to stop at the red light and collided with the first rider.
As a result, the 64-year-old Blaine resident died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
Paramedics airlifted the Snohomish man to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by WSP. At this point, no other details are available.
