Samerrit Brown Graves Dies after Oakland Car Crash
OAKLAND, CA (March 2, 2023) — Samerrit Brown Graves died after a car crash on the connection from westbound 580 Freeway to eastbound 80 Freeway on Wednesday, February 22.
The fatal incident occurred near MacArthur Maze at about 4:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities said two vehicles, one of which had 42-year-old Graves as an occupant, collided on the connection from I-580 westbound to I-80 eastbound.
Graves then jumped over a guardrail. She landed about 10 to 20 feet down at 34th Street and Hannah Street, where she died at the scene.
According to a memorial page, Graves was greatly loved by family and friends.
The cause and circumstances behind the accident remain under investigation. No additional information is released at this time.
