16-Year-Old Ryley Young Killed after Phoenix Car Accident

 
PHOENIX, AZ (March 5, 2024) — A 16-year-old identified as Ryley Young died in a crash that also injured another teen on Sunday, February 25.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident took place near 43rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road at about 1:30 a.m.
 
The Phoenix police said a vehicle traveled south on 43rd Avenue toward Happy Valley Road. Then the driver lost control and struck a curb. After that, it caused the vehicle to overturn until it struck a tree.
 
When officers arrived, they found two teenagers in the car. Paramedics rushed both to local hospitals with serious injuries.
 
Ryley, who was a passenger inside the vehicle, did not survive the injuries and died at the hospital. The driver is still in the hospital in critical condition, Phoenix Police Sgt. Rob Scherer said.
 
Friends made a GoFundMe page to help Ryley’s family pay for funeral expenses.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
