18-Year-Old Ryan Oliver Aguirre Killed by DUI Driver in Sacramento County
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 1, 2022) — Ryan Oliver Aguirre died while a driver was arrested after a suspected DUI crash on Highway 160 on Sunday night, November 27.
The fatal collision, which occurred at around 9:30 p.m. near Rio Vista, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities said a Subaru, driven by a 20-year-old West Sacramento resident, traveled south on Highway 160 when it went over the double yellow lines into the northbound lane.
It then slammed into a Honda driven by 18-year-old Aguirre. The force of impact pushed the Honda down the embankment on the east of the highway.
Respondents rendered aid and attempted to transport Aguirre to the UC Davis Medical Center. However, the victim died before arriving at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Subaru sustained minor injuries.
Officials then arrested the Subaru driver on suspicion of driving under the influence and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
No other information is available at this time. However, the case is still under investigation.
