Roseanne Alaniz Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, TX (April 6, 2023) – Guadalupe County Sheriff’s investigators identified 39-year-old Roseanne Alaniz as the victim who died in a hit-and-run accident in the 4500 block of FM 1978 on March 31.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 7:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, deputies found the victim in the grass near the shoulder of the roadway. Preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle hit her.
 
However, the involved vehicle involved fled the scene.
 
As a result, Alaniz died at the scene. Guadalupe County Justice of the Peace Sheryl Sachtleben ordered an autopsy.
 
As of now, the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is handling the investigation. In addition, deputies ask anyone with information regarding the incident, and death of Alaniz to contact the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office at 830-379-1224.
