20-Year-Old Levi Moser and 17-Year-Old Killed, Gregory Steele Arrested in Crash on 705 Freeway [Tacoma, WA]

20-Year-Old Levi Moser Identified in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash in Tacoma, Gregory Steele Arrested for DUI

 
TACOMA, WA (April 7, 2023) – Officers identified 20-year-old Levi Moser as one of the victims who died in a wrong-way crash on 705 Freeway on April 2.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at 5 Freeway. Based on a report, 37-year-old Gregory Steele of Gig Harbor was going southbound in the northbound lanes of the freeway prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, his Ford F-150 struck Moser’s Honda Accord.
 
As a result, Moser and his 17-year-old male passenger from Puyallup both suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
A 15-year-old female passenger in the Accord and a female passenger in the F-150 also suffered injuries and were taken to St. Joseph Hospital.
 
WSP said Steele had a blood-alcohol level of .2 at the time of the crash. Commissioner Craig Adams ordered Steele to be held in the Pierce County Jail on a $1-million bail. If he posts bail, Steele would be required to be on electronic home monitoring.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
