Rosa Gordillo Dies and Manuel Esquivel Hospitalized after El Paso Rollover Crash

 
EL PASO, TX (August 22, 2024) — 56-year-old Rosa Elva Gordillo from Hemet, California, died in a rollover accident on Monday, August 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the rollover accident occurred at around 7:40 a.m. on 10 Freeway, east of El Paso.
 
Texas DPS said a 2005 Toyota 4Runner traveled westbound on 10 Freeway, around 15 miles west of Sierra Blanca. Then it veered north off the roadway onto the shoulder of the freeway. After that, it overturned before it came to rest on its side.
 
Gordillo, who was behind the wheel of the SUV, died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, Gordillo’s passenger, 30-year-old Manuel Esquivel, of Hemet, was hurt in the crash. Emergency responders transported him to the University Medical Center of El Paso in stable condition with incapacitating injuries.
 
According to Texas DPS, Gordillo and Esquivel wore seat belts.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
