James Carroll Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Accident in Devers

 
DEVERS, TX (August 22, 2024) — A 33-year-old man identified as James Patrick Carroll died in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, August 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident took place on Highway 90 near FM 1009 at around 9:14 p.m.
 
Texas DPS said Carroll rode a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 90, about halfway between Beaumont and Liberty.
 
At the same time, 69-year-old Edmond Henderson, of Devers, moved westbound on Highway 90 in a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck. Then he tried to turn onto FM 1009 and turned in front of the Caroll’s motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle slammed into the truck.
 
Paramedics transported Carroll to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where medical personnel pronounced him dead.
 
Henderson did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
 
There are no reports of whether impairment and/or speed contributed to the crash.
