Rona Bowles Fatally Injured in Kennewick Pedestrian Accident
KENNEWICK, WA (December 19, 2024) — A 34-year-old woman, Rona Bowles, died in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday, December 3.
According to the Kennewick Police Department, the crash happened at about 7:14 p.m. on West 10th Avenue near South Johnson Street.
KPD said that preliminary investigation determined a 23-year-old man from Kennewick drove westbound on West 10th Avenue and hit Bowles.
Paramedics arrived and administered life-saving measures to Bowles. After that, they transported her to Kadlec, where she died from her injuries.
After the accident, the man drove away from the collision. However, after 13 minutes, he ultimately stopped and called authorities about what happened.
Officers do not believe the man drove under the influence. They also determined that speed did not play a factor in the accident. They released him the same night.
