Destiny Ramirez and 3-Month-Old Killed, Three Children Injured in Kempner Solo-Vehicle Accident

 
KEMPNER, TX (December 19, 2024) — 28-year-old Destiny Ramirez, of Huntsville, and her baby died in an accident on Saturday, December 7.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at around 9:40 p.m. on Highway 190, just west of Kempner.
 
Texas DPS said Ramirez drove a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound on Highway 190 on the way to a family member’s birthday party. She traveled at an unsafe speed with wet road conditions. As she approached a curve, she lost control of her vehicle, crossed into the westbound lane, and struck a guard rail.
 
Authorities said the impact of the incident ejected Ramirez and a 3-month-old infant from the vehicle. Ramirez and the 3-month-old died at the scene.
 
Additionally, 2-year-old John Williams, 5-year-old Dallas Evans, and 7-year-old L.J. Evans sustained injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported all three of them to the hospital.
 
The children’s grandparents, Thomas and Melissa Max, said Dallas receives treatment in the pediatric ICU with a medically induced coma. Meanwhile, John Williams and L.J. Evans have been discharged.
