Rodolfo Ceja Arrested, Alice Sumerlin, Kierra Pierce, Agustin Valdivia Injured in Touchet Head-On Accident

 
TOUCHET, WA (November 6, 2024) — Authorities arrested 41-year-old Rodolfo Ceja, of Milton-Freewater, after an accident on Monday, October 21.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened at around 1:25 p.m. in Nine Mile Canyon near Highway 12.
 
WSP said Ceja drove a 2000 Chevy Tahoe west on Highway 12. Then he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2022 Ford Transit van.
 
Ceja and his two passengers, 34-year-old Alice Sumerlin, 34, of Milton-Freewater, and 19-year-old Kierra Beltran Pierce, of Walla Walla, sustained injuries.
 
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Agustin Valdivia, of Richland, Washington, was the sole occupant of the Ford. He also sustained injuries.
 
Paramedics brought Ceja to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla. They also brought everyone else to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
 
WSP booked Ceja into the Walla Walla County Jail. He faces several charges including vehicular assault and driving with an invalid license.
 
Authorities believe impairment contributed to the accident.
 
WSP continues to investigate the crash.
