Roderick Lucas Identified in Fatal Accident on FM 980 in Walker County

 
WALKER COUNTY, TX (January 16, 2024) – Officials identified 53-year-old Roderick Lucas of Huntsville who died in an accident on FM 980 on January 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about two miles south of Riverside. Based on a report, Lucas was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla and was going too fast at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he hit a tree after he drove a curve. No other car was involved.
 
As a result, Lucas suffered grave injuries and died in the crash.
 
His passenger, 36-year-old Kaila Lin Stanley of Angleton, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with serious injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
