Robert Rathvon Struck and Killed by Hit-And-Run Driver on Highway 3 in Poulsbo

 
POULSBO, WA (December 21, 2023) – Officials identified 35-year-old Robert Rathvon who died in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 3 on December 9.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near the Finn Hill Road exit ramp. Police said Rathvon was a pilot who was staying at a local hotel at the time of the incident.
 
Based on a report, the victim walked to a downtown restaurant where he had dinner and began walking back to his hotel. Police said he possibly took a wrong turn and went to Finn Hill Road, where he was hit by a vehicle. The driver then fled the scene without helping him.
 
Detectives said it was hours before anyone noticed he was there. As a result, Rathvon suffered grave injuries and died in the accident.
 
Now, his family and Crime Stoppers are offering a $26,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and charge filed in the case. They ask anyone with any information, dash camera footage or surveillance video to email [email protected].
