COMMERCE CITY, CO (December 20, 2023) – The Commerce City Police Department arrested 24-year-old Benjamin Winters following an accident on 76 Freeway on December 7.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened around 8:30 PM. Based on a report, Winters drove around barricades and crashed into the scene of an initial accident.
 
He struck two CCPD officers and two South Adams County Fire Department firefighters.
 
As a result, the victims suffered injuries in the crash. Crews also one direction of the freeway from 104th Avenue to Highway 85.
 
Winters is facing DUI charges.
