Robert Moyer II Arrested, 16-Year-Old Dead after Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 60 near Meridian Road

 
APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (July 18, 2023) — Authorities arrested Robert C. Moyer II, a 45-year-old man from Peoria, after a fatal hit-and-run on Sunday, July 16.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety officials, the accident happened on Highway 60 eastbound near the Meridian Road off-ramp at around 7:40 a.m.
 
Troopers said Moyer drove a white single-cab dually flatbed pickup truck with black rails.
 
Officials said a 16-year-old girl from Mesa was walking along the freeway. Then the pickup truck driven by Moyer struck her and fled.
 
The girl died due to sustained injuries in the crash. Authorities have not released her identity.
 
DPS said that on Monday, July 17, Moyer turned himself in at Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Phoenix. They then arrested him and he faces several charges including leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
