Journie Fletcher Identified in Fatal Head-On Crash in Montague County

 
MONTAGUE COUNTY, TX (July 18, 2023) – Officials identified 23-year-old Journie Fletcher of Nocona who died in a head-on crash on Highway 59 on July 7.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 5:45 PM. Based on a report, Fletcher was a passenger in a car that was trying to pass several vehicles in a no passing zone prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, her vehicle hit another car head-on and went airborne. When the vehicle flipped, the force ejected Fletcher and the car caught on fire after the crash.
 
As a result, Fletcher sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Symon Ford, sustained critical injuries in the incident. Another passenger in the other car was also hurt.
