SHERMAN, TX (July 18, 2023) – Sherman Police arrested 23-year-old Jason Smith after a hit-and-run crash in the 4400 block of West Houston Street on July 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened outside Kiotee Bumper Club around 11:15 PM. Based on a report, Smith was driving a blue Dodge Ram when he collided with another car.
 
Subsequently, Smith fled the scene without waiting for authorities and giving aid to the other parties involved in the crash.
 
As a result, the driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries in the crash. Crews took the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
 
Officers located Smith at the Grove Apartments and he exhibited multiple indicators of intoxication. They arrested him for driving while intoxicated.
