The fatal victims were identified as 53-year-old Mark R. Nieman, 24-year-old Natasha Neiman, both from Des Moines, Washington, and 68-year-old Diane Coughlin.

According to Washington State Patrol, the crash took place on Highway 26 around four miles west of Hatton near Williams Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Troopers said a small pickup truck traveled eastbound on Highway 26 before it crossed the center line and struck a westbound SUV head-on.

Both occupants in the pickup truck – identified as Mark and Natasha Neiman – died at the scene.

A passenger in the SUV – identified as Coughlin – also died at the scene.

The driver, 65-year-old James E. Coughlin, has been transported to the East Adams Rural Hospital in Ritzville.
