Robert Jones Killed, Jesus Gutierrez Arrested in Hit-and-Run on Julia Street at Bauman Road [Houston, TX]

Robert Jones Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (October 11, 2023) – The Houston Police Department identified 29-year-old Robert Jones who died in a hit-and-run crash on Julia Street on September 30.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Bauman Road around 3:00 PM. Based on a report, Jones was driving his postal truck southbound on Bauman Road at the time of the crash.
 
At that point, a white Ford Expedition was behind him. As Jones attempted to turn left, the Expedition tried to go around it and struck the back of the postal truck. The driver of the truck left the scene after the crash.
 
As a result, Jones suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Police say they spoke with witnesses to get a vehicle description and a charging document traced the suspect car back to Jesus Natividad Gutierrez.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
