Alma Paiz Killed, Benjamin Jarvis Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 188 [Sinton, TX]

Alma Paiz Identified in Fatal Sinton Crash on Julia Street

 
SINTON, TX (October 11, 2023) – Officials identified 41-year-old Alma Paiz of Sinton who died in a head-on crash on Julia Street on October 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Sinton’s Alfred C. ‘Bubba’ Thomas Airport around 1:54 PM. Based on a report, Paiz was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Highway 188 at the time of the crash.
 
DPS said Paiz was driving at an unsafe speed for the weather and had worn tires. Due to unknown reasons, she hit a puddle of standing water following that morning’s rain. The tires caused the vehicle to hydroplane and cross into the eastbound lane. There, she hit 39-year-old Benjamin Jarvis of Anderson in his F-350 head-on.
 
As a result, Paiz sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Jarvis was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
