Robert Gubany Involved in Fatal DUI Accident on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga

 
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (January 24, 2023) San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 23-year-old Robert Gubany of Fontana after a fatal bicycle accident on Foothill Boulevard on January 17.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Etiwanda Avenue around 8:20 PM. Based on a report, the suspect was driving east on Foothill Boulevard when he moved onto the right-hand bicycle lane to pass traffic.
 
There, he struck a 41-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Upland. Deputies confirmed that Gubany continued driving away from the scene and was involved in a second crash later that night.
 
As a result, the female cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency crews transported the male victim to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
 
Authorities later arrested Gubany on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol.
