Rigoberto Osorio Arrested, Fatal Las Vegas Hit-and-Run

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 6, 2024) — Officers arrested 48-year-old Rigoberto Osorio after a fatal hit-and-run on Sunday, July 21.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place on East Harmon Avenue, west of Paradise Road, at around 12:47 a.m.
 
LVMPD said a pedestrian tried to cross over Harmon Avenue, west of Paradise Road, from north to south. He was outside of a marked crosswalk when an SUV traveling westbound on Harmon Avenue struck the man.
 
The front right portion of the SUV hit the pedestrian. The impact projected the pedestrian forward and onto the roadway.
 
Paramedics brought the 62-year-old man to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
 
The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene and fled. Police said the suspect vehicle likely has damage to the right front headlight assembly and hood.
 
LVMPD said on early Monday morning that officers found Rigoberto Osorio and then brought him into custody. However, they did not provide any further details on how they identified or found Osorio.
