Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on East Iliff Avenue [Aurora, CO]

One Dead in Aurora Motorcycle Accident on East Iliff Avenue and South Quintero Street

 
AURORA, CO (September 18, 2023) — A rider suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle crash on East Iliff Avenue on Saturday, September 16.
 
According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to the crash on East Iliff Avenue at South Quintero Street at 10:35 a.m.
 
The initial investigation determined that the man riding the motorcycle traveled westbound on Iliff Avenue at a high rate of speed. Then the rider did not stop at the red light at the intersection. After that, it crashed into a Honda SUV moving southbound on Quintero Street.
 
First responders transported the driver of the motorcycle to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries Saturday afternoon.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV was not hurt.
 
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased rider, pending family notification.
 
The crash is Aurora’s 47th traffic-related fatality this 2023.
