Ricardo Torres Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 83 [Donna, TX]

Ricardo Torres Identified in Fatal Donna Crash

 
DONNA, TX (June 19, 2023) – Officials identified 41-year-old Ricardo Torres of Donna who died in a motorcycle crash in the 1000 block of Business Highway 83 on June 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just west of Val Verde Road at approximately 6:37 AM. Based on a report, Torres was traveling eastbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, 33-year-old Freddy Lerma of Alamo failed to yield the right of way and struck the motorcycle while attempting to turn into Val Verde.
 
As a result, Torres sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
A passenger in the truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
 
Officers observed Lerma exhibiting signs of intoxication. They took him into custody on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
